Over his 25 years in construction management, Jim Belliveau has consistently observed business leaders struggling with fundamental aspects of employee management, including payroll, workers' compensation, labor laws, and employee benefits. In 1989, he established Acadia HR to address the significant demand for effective employment operations solutions. Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs), often referred to as staff leasing companies, laid the groundwork for an expanding industry by offering efficient and integrated human resources management solutions. Acadia HR was one of the first PEOs in New York State and, based in Red Hook, NY, it expanded in size and significance. Jim was also fortunate to serve on the Board of Directors for the New York State Staff Leasing Association. By 1994, Acadia HR made several strategic hires, bringing on professionals with specialized HR expertise and backgrounds. This dynamic and dedicated core team effectively met the complex needs of a growing clientele while navigating an increasingly complex landscape of state and federal labor laws and regulations.
