ABOUT ABBEALTri-geo engineering hub (Paris Montréal Tokyo)
Abbeal is a tri-geo senior engineering firm established in Paris in 2015 by Sébastien Lonjon and Vianney Blanquart. The organization operates three interconnected hubs located in Paris, Montréal (launched in 2023), and Tokyo (opened in 2021), facilitating a 24/7 Adaptive Follow-the-Sun delivery approach where engineering teams exchange information daily across CET, EST, and JST. This model ensures there are no queues, no outstanding debts, and no delays due to time zone differences. Abbeal focuses on four engineering sectors: Software (Web and Mobile using React, Vue, Angular, Next.js, Node, Java, Python); Artificial Intelligence and Data (utilizing PyTorch, LangChain, Pinecone, and agent-based workflows that perform well under pressure); Cloud and Reliability (featuring AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, and observability tools); and Embedded and Robotics (employing modern C++, Rust, ROS 2, embedded Linux, MQTT, and CAN bus technology). Unlike traditional French IT service firms, Abbeal does not use time-based billing (Time and Material) as a standard practice, instead opting for measurable deliverables and service level objectives (SLOs). They offer three engagement models to meet client needs: Staff Augmentation (providing embedded senior engineers), Talent Acquisition (hiring the top 1% of tech talent with international relocation), and Digital Solutions (complete product delivery based on output). Their international mobility program, Mobbeal, has successfully relocated over 50 engineers between Paris, Montréal, and Tokyo since 2022. Vianney Blanquart, co-founder and COO, has been the General Manager of the Montréal hub since November 2024. Their clientele includes BNP Paribas, AXA, Kering, Société Générale, PayPay, Money Forward, Carrefour, Hydro-Québec, Le Monde, EDF, PwC, Decathlon, and Cartier, as well as Ticketmaster.
