Store Design

HLA

HLA is a global retail chain based in China, boasting over 6,000 stores around the world. The task of creating a 600 sqm store design concept for HLA's primary fashion brands in the newly constructed, upscale TRX tower in Kuala Lumpur was assigned to 5 Star Plus Retail Design. This design concept needed to incorporate innovative, eye-catching elements along with refreshed aesthetics for HLA, setting a new benchmark for large-format stores in Malaysia. Preserving HLA's signature ambiance was essential while achieving a contemporary and dynamic appearance with depth. Materials such as aluminum, wood, acrylic, and metal mesh were utilized for this purpose. In the women’s area, the fundamental design language was retained and enhanced with rose gold and mauve elements, stone accents, and intricate patterns, creating a premium, warm, and sophisticated atmosphere. To differentiate the store from others, a locally-themed 3D-printed signature element featuring hidden, color-changing LED lighting was crafted for the façade. Additionally, vibrant and engaging displays were designed for the 3-meter-deep welcome area. The store officially opened in December 2023.

Exhibition Stand Design, UK's Department

UK's Department for Business and Trade

From April 14-18, 2024, the UK’s Department for Business and Trade presented a UK Pavilion at the China International Consumer Products Expo, featuring 14 high-end British fashion and lifestyle brands. After securing the project tender, 5 Star Plus Retail Design was tasked with designing and constructing the pavilion. The design concept blended traditional and contemporary elements, drawing from UK architectural inspirations to achieve a modern aesthetic. Inspired by the graceful lines of Georgian architecture, the design team created a showroom-like space with a premium appearance. The walls incorporated semi-transparent mesh fabric to evoke a high-end fashion ambiance, while LED strip lighting highlighted key architectural features, enhancing the overall visual appeal. The pavilion was open at the front and accessible from all sides, featuring a prominent display island in front of a branded backdrop showcasing the GREAT logo, aimed at drawing visitors into the exhibition area. Throughout the space, the 14 brands presented their products in fashion, lifestyle, and accessories. The UK pavilion utilized an all-white color scheme for a sleek and minimalist appearance, reflecting the country’s image and the nature of the project.

Office Design, Melchers China

Melchers China

5 Star Plus Retail Design was tasked with renovating Melchers China's current office in Beijing, aiming to embody the brand's new visual identity within the workspace. The design features diagonal, sleek lines symbolizing modernity and rapid progress, which are reflected in various elements such as the reception desk, carpet pattern, wall panels, and decorations on the glass walls. The color palette of gold and blue pays tribute to the company’s over 200-year history. In particular, the blue signifies Melchers' core values of integrity, reliability, loyalty, as well as hard work, growth, and harmony. The office layout combines both formal and informal workspaces, offering a range of cozy and spacious areas to enhance employee well-being. Three formal meeting rooms are named after cities where Melchers has main offices and significant operations in China: Bremen, Hong Kong, and Beijing. Informal areas feature a variety of seating options, including café-style benches, round tables, and high tables, to promote interaction and communication among employees.
