Genome Alberta

Genome Alberta required a website that effectively highlighted their innovative genomics research while making complex information easy to understand. Their previous site had issues with navigation, lacked a straightforward user experience, and did not convey their expertise in the field. We began by conducting thorough research, including an SEO audit, to develop a site that addresses its varied audiences—scientists, researchers, and policymakers. Our team created a strategic navigation plan and organized content to ensure clarity, engagement, and ease of access. The completed website, launched in just five months, features a balanced design with ample whitespace, strong branding, and prominent visuals, resulting in an authoritative yet welcoming appearance. Users can now navigate research areas, funding opportunities, and key projects with ease. To highlight Genome Alberta's influence, we incorporated dynamic modules that showcase data, achievements, and practical applications. Mega menus with clear links and visuals enhance the user experience, making navigation straightforward for both new and returning visitors. The fully responsive design ensures a seamless experience across all devices, providing smooth browsing on mobile, tablet, and desktop. SAC Website Redesign

Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC) is a national organization driven by its members, dedicated to supporting and representing speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and communication health assistants. Website Development and Copywriting: We created the largest website we've ever designed, featuring over 1,500 pages in two languages. This fully bilingual site incorporates essential features like the WordPress Elementor framework, which provides the SAC team with the flexibility to update and expand their site as needed. Additionally, the site includes robust front-end filtering, making it easy for users to navigate the extensive range of available resources. We also facilitated the migration of content including blogs, careers, events, and more than 450 resources. Graphic Design Services: Alongside leading the SAC website redevelopment, 1dea has served as the Agency of Record for the SAC Communication Department. In 2023, our design team completed hundreds of projects aimed at educating and inspiring SAC members. 1dea was prepared to handle all creative needs—whether print, branding, web, digital, social media, or marketing—requested by SAC. Noteworthy projects include: - The design of the SAC Annual Report: We produced a 26-page report available in English and French, utilizing vibrant branded colors and engaging icons. - The creation of collateral materials: This includes quarterly position papers and posters that present industry-relevant findings. - Special campaigns for designated months: For example, we developed and designed all social media content for May, designated as Speech and Hearing Month.

Evidence for Democracy, a grassroots group focused on advocating for policy decisions grounded in the best available evidence, reached out to our team with the aim of improving their website's searchability and ease of navigation. They also wanted to communicate the importance of their work and its impact through effective storytelling. To achieve these objectives, we adopted a comprehensive strategy, creating an engaging website specifically designed to meet their needs. This process included crafting custom wireframes and designs that aligned seamlessly with their vision. We also carefully developed and executed strategies for conversion and engaging copywriting to maximize user involvement and influence. The finished website, which aligns with and enhances the brand aesthetic of E4D, is dynamic, bold, and innovative, making a memorable impression on visitors while clearly conveying the organization’s commitment to advancing evidence-based decision-making.
