Replatforming Of Self-Service Customer Portal (Salesforce And Liferay)

**The Challenge** Senior management at XYPRO recognized that their outdated PHP-based portal was failing to meet the needs of their extensive customer base for its enterprise security software. They sought a reliable self-service customer portal that would allow users to download software documentation, obtain software, and resolve issues independently. Previously, customers had to log in twice to create a support ticket or access the knowledge base. **The Solution** After conducting thorough user research to understand their requirements, we recommended a complete redesign of their self-service customer portal. We implemented the portal using Liferay, enabling customers to freely download software, documentation, and other resources without contacting customer support. To enhance the customer experience, we integrated Liferay with Salesforce, allowing users to create support tickets directly from Liferay, eliminating the need to visit Salesforce. With the implementation of single sign-on (SSO) between Liferay and Salesforce, the customer portal has exceeded the company's expectations in terms of user engagement and feedback. Acknowledging the importance of reliability for self-service portals, we developed a highly available AWS cloud infrastructure to host the Liferay portal, ensuring 99.9% uptime.

The Issue As consumer expectations regarding mobile shopping reach unprecedented levels, SHEEX's senior management recognized the limitations of their responsive website. They decided it was essential to redesign the site to enhance the user experience for the approximately 70% of customers who shop via their phones. The Solution Initially considering a native mobile app, we soon understood that customers would have little motivation to download it for purchases. Instead, we aimed to provide a reliable, fast, and engaging experience akin to an app. We proposed a mobile-first strategy using a Progressive Web App (PWA) that emphasized design, speed, and an intuitive user experience to boost mobile conversions. We successfully developed a PWA that improved the user interface and checkout process, leading to higher conversion rates and increased customer satisfaction. Our primary challenge was to conduct comprehensive UX research, perform audits, design, develop, test, and launch the PWA just a week before Black Friday. Thanks to our expertise and the agile development methodology we employed, we managed to launch the PWA on time and within budget.
