Simplifying Choices for Cruise Planning Some travelers are seeking feedback on cabin 8512 aboard the Carnival Vista, while others are uncertain about what they want. We created a website to cater to both groups. Should I immerse myself in European culture or enjoy the warmth of the Caribbean? Is it better to travel during school holidays or when the weather is ideal? Am I better off with a nice room on an affordable ship, or a budget room on a higher-end cruise? And, is it acceptable to relax on the balcony? (Spoiler: no.) Planning a cruise vacation involves numerous decisions, and Cruise Critic offers more resources than anyone else—articles, expert and user reviews, photos, videos, deck plans, booking options, and community engagement. Our goal was to help users, whether seasoned cruisers or beginners, piece everything together. The outcome is a user-friendly experience that accommodates various entry points, scenarios, and preferences, guiding users effortlessly through the decision-making process. Northeastern - Graduate Studies

No more strenuous efforts needed before selecting a program. Previously, students had to browse through ten different websites to find a graduate program. Now, they have simplified options to consider, like Professor Plummer in Boston for an Accounting certificate or Dr. Scarlette's online MBA. We discovered that aligning with students' life circumstances is essential, and while cost matters, value is even more critical. Faculty expertise and their research contribute to the institution's credibility, yet no single database provided all this information. So, we created one. Before this initiative, students were largely unaware. Through detailed interviews with prospective students, we explored how decisions about graduate school are made. The outcome has been a significant success—the site currently ranks as the third most visited at the university (out of approximately a thousand) and has seen a 69% increase in mobile traffic. Most importantly, this foundational project has fostered a lasting partnership with NU, which has just reached out for us to collaborate on the next step.

One fewer test It's already challenging to gain admission to school, so entering a class shouldn't add to that burden. We have great respect for the capabilities of NU students, but dealing with an outdated class registration system should not be a barrier to their education. We created a new platform designed to empower students. We began with a straightforward UX concept: What courses have I completed? What should I take next? What are the prerequisites? What does my schedule look like? Over time, we expanded this to address more complex inquiries such as: Where did my transfer credits go? How can I substitute a course? Is my student visa current? And when will I graduate exactly? It's a simple premise, but providing students with greater clarity and control over their classes is helping them achieve more in their academic pursuits.
