As mobile technology continues to dominate, PayPal aimed to evolve. Collaborating closely with PayPal's engineering team, we redesigned the app to function as a mobile-centric payment platform. The revamped PayPal app emphasizes money transfers, allowing users to send and receive funds with ease. Notification cards inform users when they receive money, while a list of recent payments expedites common transactions. Users can effortlessly pay bills or friends and transfer cash to anyone, anywhere, through intuitive quick buttons and a smooth transaction process. Upon completion of a transaction, users receive a card-based notification confirming the success of the payment. Additionally, a straightforward activity feed enables users to monitor all account activity. Currently, over 19.5 million businesses and 250 million customers utilize PayPal mobile, which facilitates more than $200 billion in transactions each year. It has been recognized as the top finance app and was listed among the top 100 apps by Apple in 2017.

Insurance and banking don’t have to be complex. However, with State Farm insuring one in every six vehicles on the road and providing life, home, and full-service banking, creating a single app to manage all of that is quite a challenge. YML was tasked with making State Farm’s digital experience unique and distinct from other apps in the market. We not only crafted a novel strategy and design but also ensured that State Farm’s digital platform—the mobile app—aligned with their brand promise of being "here to help life go right®." By integrating banking and insurance, the app addresses two major life necessities using a visually appealing, user-friendly design. It enables users to deposit checks, pay insurance bills, request roadside assistance, file and track claims, and more, all from their smartphones at their convenience. Developed following best practices for both Android and iOS, the app includes innovative features such as a photo damage estimator for vehicle assessment, an AI chatbot to assist with claims, easily accessible proof of insurance without the need to log in, and a comparison tool for various policy options. YML takes pride in its contribution to helping millions of users every day.

A prominent national retailer aimed to enhance its omnichannel shopping experience by redefining how customers engage while shopping at home, on their phones, or in-store at Home Depot. We crafted a mobile platform that effortlessly connects online and offline shopping, boosting customer engagement by tailoring the experience to their specific contexts. Our product strategy team collaborated closely with Home Depot's executives and analysts to identify business challenges, understand customer decision-making processes, and pinpoint obstacles to purchasing. We categorized customers into distinct segments, each with unique requirements. After evaluating prototypes with different groups in various locations, we confirmed our solutions and developed tailored experiences for various stages of the customer journey. Within a year of launching, sales via the mobile app more than doubled, with each mobile transaction encouraging additional in-store purchases. Additionally, the retailer won the Innovative Retail Technologies Award for the best omnichannel retail solution in 2016.
