From the best fitness community to tech company
El T3mplo is a thriving fitness community located in the Mayan Riviera and Mexico City. In February 2019, we teamed up with El T3mplo to develop an engaging experience for their members. However, only a few months later, the pandemic hit, and social distancing measures posed challenges for gyms worldwide. Our original plan centered around in-person training, so we needed to adjust our strategy. Together, El T3mplo and Xipe created a new offering called ANYWH3R, a membership that provides access to real-time virtual training sessions, allowing participants to interact with their instructors and peers. Developing the technology for virtual training was quite a challenge; time was a factor for our partners, and their customers were uncertain about maintaining their memberships during the lockdown. Additionally, the instructors were inexperienced in engaging with participants via webcam. The Xipe team set up a seamless process for joining the virtual classroom. Carlotta, the owner of El T3mplo, crafted an excellent virtual training program, enabling everyone to work out from home. As options for personalized training dwindled and most gyms closed, the El T3mplo ANYWH3R membership became highly appealing within the fitness community, attracting members not only locally but also from Spain and across Latin America. For three years, we've supported their adaptation to this new model, which has transformed their user-centered approach to product development. We have gained valuable insights into the challenges of building and growing a product. Although the future remains uncertain, we embrace both the positives and the negatives. That is the essence of resilience.
