Tao of Tea: Migration of PHP Website to WordPress

The Tao of Tea

‘The Tao of Tea’ is a pure leaf tea brand located in Portland, Oregon. Initially, they operated a custom-built PHP website, but as the company expanded, they required a more robust online platform. Their needs included: a straightforward website management system, faster implementation of new features, and a dependable eCommerce solution to support their business goals. Transitioning to WordPress and WooCommerce was an obvious choice. WordPress facilitates easy setup and management for beginners, while WooCommerce offers a complete eCommerce solution. Before delving into the exciting process of creating a fully operational eCommerce site, we first had to ensure a seamless migration of over 1,500 products, 23,000 registered users, and data from 47,000 orders to WordPress. Once we completed the data transfer and established the foundational elements, we decided to develop the eCommerce site one module at a time. Module 1: Custom Shipping and Payments Module, Module 2: Dynamic Product Pricing Module, Module 3: Category-Based Points and Rewards System, Module 4: Quick Order Functionality for Wholesale Users, Module 5: Order Processing and Tracking Unit. Our enthusiasm for WordPress and WooCommerce stems from their built-in features and extensions, which allowed us to efficiently create a comprehensive eCommerce system for The Tao of Tea. We greatly appreciate the client’s dedication to maintaining the quality of their site, as is essential for any growing eCommerce venture. Two of a Kind

Two Of A Kind is an eye care company located in Singapore, dedicated to simplifying, personalizing, and enhancing eye health. They provide contact lenses and offer subscriptions for bulk purchases of disposable lenses. With the help of WooCommerce, we helped them develop a tailored subscription model. We designed various sleeve products based on the user's preferences for subscription frequency, left and right eye power, and subscription duration on a selection page for a-la-carte/subscription products. Additionally, we created a script to calculate costs based on selected attributes. We also supported them in migrating their existing products to the new product bundles model. The customized product pages were crafted to function seamlessly on both desktop and mobile devices.

Revamping the Meat Club

The Meat Club

The Meat Club, which caters to conscious meat lovers, is an online butcher located in Singapore that focuses on premium meats. They were in the process of revamping their WooCommerce website when they sought help in migrating their users to the upgraded site. We stepped in to facilitate this transition by exporting and importing all active WooCommerce subscriptions and one-time purchases from the old site to the new one, allowing them to tidy up their database as well. To streamline the move, we developed a script to transfer only the order data from the past six months, which included active subscriptions and one-time purchases. During the migration, we also ensured the creation of all user accounts and updated old products with the new offerings in the system.
