XOTV is an online content creation platform

Unknown

**Client Overview:** XOTV is a digital platform designed for content creation that prioritizes user privacy and aims to connect creative communities. It can be accessed online at www.xotv.me and through TV (via VIDAA). **Challenges Faced:** - Limited resources to manage an existing backlog of over 600 stories - Need for backend and frontend engineers to enhance the platform - Use of outdated libraries and frameworks **Our Approach:** **Reducing Backlog:** A team of three skilled developers implemented best practices, focusing on story analysis, technical planning, sprint objectives, and feedback cycles. Utilizing an agile approach, we effectively alleviated backlog pressure and updated outdated dependencies by offering viable solutions to XOTV. **Enhancing Existing and New Features:** Our consulting, design, and engineering services led to improvements in both of XOTV’s applications. We created balanced workflows to achieve essential milestones: 50% dedicated to reducing the backlog, 20% for maintenance, and 30% for new features. **Key Achievements:** - Over a period of 7 months, we successfully addressed more than 200 stories from the backlog, involving various bug fixes. For example, we transformed their VIDAA TV app into a fully functional application by fixing bugs and updating the library. - We improved the user interface of the applications with accessibility features to enhance the overall customer experience. - We adapted the Vue.js framework for partial or complete use across any page. In revamping the frontend, we transitioned from jQuery to Vanilla JS for basic functionalities and switched from the Foundation to the Bulma CSS framework, aiming for a more sustainable and efficient development environment for XOTV. **Technologies Utilized:** - **DevOps:** Kubernetes, Docker - **Distributed System Backend:** Ruby on Rails - **Frontend:** Vue.js (partially implemented), Rails View - **Services:** Stripe, Fastmail, object storage services, live streaming services - **Database:** MySQL
