**BACKGROUND** Santander Bank Polska, one of Poland's leading banks, is at the forefront of adopting modern technologies in banking services. The bank frequently rolls out innovative features that assist customers in managing both personal and corporate finances. **CHALLENGE** Santander Bank Polska sought software capable of analyzing customer transaction data to provide valuable insights into their spending habits. This software aims to categorize expenditures into specific sections such as food, clothing, fuel, and more, empowering customers to gain better awareness of their financial activities and to plan future expenses effectively. **SOLUTION** WEBSENSA addressed this need by creating a Personal Finance Management Engine alongside a Transaction Categorization Tool. Our role in the project focused on developing the backend of the PFM software. We utilized Python and an Oracle database to implement a professional risk management engine that classifies Santander’s customer transactions. **RESULTS** Our contributions to the project were completed on schedule and within budget. A key indicator of success was the performance of the categorization engine, which achieved a 90% accuracy rate in transaction classifications during our client’s tests. This was regarded as an impressive outcome compared to other tools available in the market.
