Peemz custom e-commerce website

REQUIREMENTS Since Peemz had already developed its mobile application and was using a Django-based back-end with a populated database and REST API endpoints, our task was to create the front-end for the web version of the shop, which would later be integrated with their internal team’s back-end. We needed to code approximately 25 responsive and optimized pages featuring various reusable components. HOW WE DID IT The Peemz web shop was built using our standard front-end starter, which incorporates Bootstrap 4, Sass (employing BEM and SMACSS structures and naming conventions), and jQuery. We included custom features such as price range sliders, carousels, and SVG logo animations for the homepage. Designing the ordering and payments pages for mobile was challenging, but we devised a solution with a “sticky” continue button positioned at the bottom of the screen. Clicking this button would slide up a sidebar (which is displayed on the right side in desktop view), allowing users, even those with many items in their cart, to avoid scrolling to the bottom of the page to proceed. Silipint's new Woocommerce website

REQUIREMENTS The Silipint team had already created the design for their new website, and we were ready to start coding. The redesign aimed to improve functionality, enhance user experience, and streamline admin site management. They required backend logic for the new cart, including features like free shipping and the ability to add different gifts based on the cart's current value. Another key requirement was to enable the sale of two products on the same page (the cup as the main product and a lid as a complimentary, optional item). The combined price would be displayed on the product page, but once added to the cart, both items would appear as separate products for easier management and tracking. HOW WE IMPLEMENTED IT Gifts within the cart are controlled through a custom-coded admin page within WooCommerce. Silipint has the flexibility to add new rules and modify existing ones, including setting “start” and “stop” checkpoints along with the IDs of products to be added to the cart when users reach those checkpoints. This was accomplished using WordPress's settings API, along with AJAX validation and calculations on the front end during each cart interaction. The product page is structured as a variable product. Each main product (the cup) comes with variations that feature different images, names, and prices. Similarly, the complimentary products (the lids) also have variations and are linked to the main product.

New Dreamhost blog coded in Wordpress

**REQUIREMENTS** Dreamhost sought a redesign of their blog and requested our assistance in coding it according to the designs they provided. The goal was to create a more modern appearance and better organization of their content. Additionally, there was a technical requirement to allow easier management of ads for their main website directly from the blog. They also wanted the blog built from the ground up and optimized for faster loading times. **HOW WE DID IT** We developed the blog using our clean WordPress starter template, which is founded on the Underscores theme. We implemented our component-based CSS structure using SMACSS and BEM conventions, along with Babel to write modern ES6 JavaScript that is compatible across all browsers through transpilation. To avoid reliance on jQuery, we utilized Bootstrap’s native features, ultimately refining it to include only necessary components like the navigation and grid system. For efficient and intuitive ad management, we leveraged WordPress’ Customizer API and enhanced the TinyMCE editor with custom buttons that generate adjustable shortcodes for inline ads in the blog templates. Thanks to minimal dependencies and various optimizations, we achieved impressive results on GTmetrix and Google’s PageSpeed Insights, reaching a score of 94% and a load time of under 1.5 seconds, with a total homepage size of 658KB. **Tech Used:** WordPress, JavaScript (ES6), HTML, CSS
