Discovering Product Market Fit for Cybersecurity
Vectrix (acquired by Cloudfare)
"Without WANDR's support, we would have struggled to clearly convey the value of our product. Their in-depth B2B UX expertise allowed them to grasp our priorities effectively, which stood out as one of their key strengths." -- Corey Mahan, Co-Founder & CEO at Vectrix
About the Client: Vectrix, a cybersecurity startup from Y Combinator, sought help to gain a better understanding of their customers and to create user experiences that catered to their needs. Prior to their collaboration with WANDR, Vectrix had developed a platform based on assumptions about customer behavior.
Process & Deliverables:
The Challenge: As Vectrix had yet to launch, there were many uncertainties regarding the optimal product-market fit. Through UX research and usability testing, we identified Vectrix's target customers. A significant discovery was that Vectrix's offering was distinct in the market, and it was crucial to comprehend users’ needs, attitudes, and behaviors that made their experience enjoyable.
The Goal: The cybersecurity sector is often seen as complicated and outdated. Our mission was to establish Vectrix as a straightforward and contemporary solution within the industry, starting with identifying the ideal customers and then designing a product that aligned with their behaviors.
Heimdall Design System: Ultimately, our final designs resulted in high user satisfaction. In user testing, the System Usability Score (SUS) was 82, which is above average. We refined our designs based on user feedback and developed a strong, scalable design system called Heimdall. The principles of Heimdall (Empowering, Intuitive, Inclusive, Solution-driven) encapsulated our approach to product development and the brand's unique value proposition. These principles were integrated into marketing and sales strategies, fostering a genuinely customer-focused company.
