MoS | Engaging Audiences Through an Online Exhibit

Museum of Science, Boston

The Museum of Science in Boston is a cherished local establishment that attracts almost five million visitors annually, both in its Science Park location and through its global outreach in schools and online. However, like many educational and cultural institutions, it struggled to maintain connections with its audience in person because of the COVID-19 pandemic. To effectively reach both local and distant audiences, the Museum partnered with Velir to develop an interactive, virtual platform for its Project Vaccine exhibit. The Project Vaccine exhibit is a timely showcase of the science and individuals involved in vaccine development, originally intended as a physical display with limited digital presence. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, drawing visitors to the museum became increasingly difficult. Furthermore, the information surrounding COVID-19 vaccines was rapidly evolving, making it hard to keep the online content relevant since the Museum’s website lacked the adaptability necessary for frequent updates. In response, our collaboration led to the creation of a microsite within the Museum’s existing structure, which expands the Project Vaccine exhibit into the online realm and engages virtual audiences. This site also enables internal content creators to update materials in both English and Spanish and acts as a prototype for future online exhibits.

ABA | Creating a Streamlined Ecommerce Solution

American Banker’s Association

To enhance member benefits, the ABA utilized various Ecommerce platforms and shopping carts for processing payments related to its training, educational programs, professional certifications, events, and conferences. This approach led to an overly complicated and inconsistent experience for members. To create a more unified experience, ABA enlisted Velir to consolidate the shopping carts into a single Ecommerce solution. ABA sought a system powered by Nimble AMS, which would also serve as the central repository for member data. ABA faced several challenges, including: Results: A redesigned login and registration process for user accounts that retains user information in Nimble AMS; the capability for members to choose from multiple user profiles; a streamlined and integrated shopping cart, a functioning shopping cart icon, and a new pricing component displaying member versus non-member prices along with relevant discounts; a versatile product data template that enables ABA to better manage offerings in Nimble AMS and other platforms; updates to current data templates for improved management of content types, including products, while simplifying future content and product creation; and an effective method for updating product information across all systems to ensure inventory and details remain current.

johnnie-O | Unlocking 360-Degree Customer Data

Similar to other eCommerce retailers, johnnie-O faced difficulties due to the numerous tools required for its marketing operations. While its platforms for eCommerce, email, SMS, analytics, and A/B testing were top-notch, they lacked integration, preventing seamless data transfer among them. Additionally, product and order information was confined to an on-premises enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, making it impossible to combine with user interaction data and analytics reports. This scenario led to disjointed user metrics, as each tool only offered a limited perspective on user behavior and needs.
