Mawi Solutions is a wellness and medical data-focused company with considerable expertise in smart wearable technology. They develop wearable devices and AI-driven solutions for both consumers and businesses. Mawi Solutions faces challenges in creating various healthcare solutions. Their latest initiative, the Mawi Platform, was designed and developed in under three months, incorporating AI algorithms and wearable device integration. The primary challenge was to establish infrastructure capable of handling high loads. The objective was to create an infrastructure for a microservice-based architecture for a complex AI system that analyzes data from different wearable devices. We successfully built an infrastructure comprising 15 microservices on AWS, utilizing services such as ECS, CodePipeline, AWS Lambda, and RDS. The entire infrastructure was fully automated, including deployment stages and auto-scaling. All migrations were executed without data loss, application downtime, or any other negative impacts on Mawi's operations.

Challenge The primary concept of the product is to offer an affordable solution for automating merchandising through the use of advanced technologies. Solution By utilizing image recognition and machine learning, it is feasible to automate this process and significantly reduce the manual effort involved. The solution consists of two key components: object detection and object classification. Models were trained on a curated dataset with 50 categories. During the proof of concept (POC) stage, we achieved a mean Average Precision (mAP@0.50) of 77.93% in detection and 70% accuracy in classification. Result This solution can be implemented on a GPU instance and can be easily scaled. It outperforms cloud-based recognition services, which struggle to scale for thousands of unique SKUs and incur high costs per processed and trained image. With this system, we can process 200,000 images in under 10 days using an Nvidia T4 GPU instance, which is significantly faster than what a single person could achieve in the same timeframe.
