Previously a hotel, the facility at 510 South 8th Street now accommodates 116 individuals who have experienced homelessness. However, their previous client reservation and attendance management system—internally referred to as "the Matrix" due to its complexity—was no longer sufficient. Traust intervened by developing new custom software to enhance House of Charity's ability to manage their daily operations. This cloud-based web application also simplifies the often cumbersome reporting requirements associated with public funding. The system efficiently links client records — the individuals served by House of Charity — to their available housing inventory. Similar to any apartment complex or hotel, House of Charity needed an effective method for tracking which clients occupy which rooms, identifying available rooms, and recognizing those in need of maintenance. The new Traust solution achieves this effortlessly with a user-friendly interface. It assists in monitoring critical information for each client, including case numbers, accessibility requirements, and contact details. Additionally, it tracks client attendance, which is essential for the organization's government funding. Accurate record-keeping is crucial for a nonprofit like House of Charity. The reservations module of the new system logs who occupies which room and when, allows for easy transfers between rooms, and enables searches to see which rooms a client has stayed in over a specified period. This meticulous record-keeping considerably simplifies House of Charity's government-mandated reporting, so much so that Geoff Meyer, the Housing Services Director, suggests it may even be too easy.
