Thunderbird Molding currently operates over 125 presses, with capacities ranging from 40 to 1550 tons, and integrates automation and robotics throughout its manufacturing processes. We have five manufacturing facilities across the United States, including a Class 7 Cleanroom (Class 10,000) ISO 13485: 2016 certified facility located in Greensboro, NC. Over the years, we have partnered with numerous major companies, producing billions of high-quality parts. Our team includes a full complement of engineers, tool makers, and other professionals who can collaborate on various projects. Our capabilities encompass: insert molding for tightly toleranced plastic parts, overmolding for diverse parts and solutions, two-shot molding for unique components, 3D printing, and in-house mold design. We also offer finishing services such as sonic welding, pad printing, laser etching and hot stamping, turnkey assembly and inspection, kitting and custom packaging, buffer warehousing, and long-term agreements. Our quality control includes compliance with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 13485:2016, FDA registration, a Class 7 (10,000) clean room, UL certification, First Article Inspection (FAI), compliance with the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and SPI, as well as medical validation services including IQ, OQ, and PQ, and the ability to accommodate special testing requirements.
