IDBI Federal: Transforming a Legacy product

Introduction: IDBI Federal Life Insurance Co. is a joint venture among IDBI Bank, a prominent Indian development and commercial bank; Federal Bank, one of India's top private sector banks; and Ageas, a European multinational insurance leader. The Challenge: While life insurance is predominantly sold through agents, there is a growing trend of individuals applying online. This necessitates design solutions for two types of users: those who navigate the entire process digitally and those who are still becoming accustomed to online platforms. Addressing the varying levels of customer familiarity with digital tools poses a significant challenge in the insurance sector today. The Solution: We chose to innovate based on user insights. By analyzing the mindset of users when selecting a policy, we were able to develop functionalities that transformed policies into marketable products with unique selling propositions (USPs). Reliance Smart Money: Redefining Investment Category

There are numerous investment portals available, but while many focus on transactional features that let users manage their investments, some offer minimal value, limiting users to just viewing their portfolios online while handling everything offline. Reliance Smart Money was developed as an innovative, fully online solution aimed at simplifying complex investment decisions for consumers. The main challenge for our design consulting team was to break away from traditional patterns and create new design concepts that would engage all stakeholders. Design Solution: Reliance Smart Money combines an e-commerce style approach that makes it easy for users to compare and acquire investment products, complemented by Robo Assist, which provides an interactive interface to guide users throughout their digital experience. Our design principles—"Simplified, Smarter, Valuable"—were consistently reflected in the user experience. **Introduction:** The Linchpin app is an enterprise learning platform designed to make learning engaging and enjoyable. With features for creating, managing, tracking, and administering learning content, it serves as a comprehensive solution for organizations aiming to embed learning into their corporate culture. **The Challenge:** Although many enterprises have invested in various learning platforms and applications, user adoption remains significantly low. Some employees find these tools uninteresting, while others perceive them as just another IT initiative. When we examined this issue from the users' perspective, one question resonated strongly: “What motivates me to use this?” **The Solution:** To better understand the challenges and develop effective solutions, we organized a two-day stakeholder workshop in conjunction with secondary research.
