WMS Implementation Support
UNILEVER is a prominent manufacturer with over XXXX brands. CEVA has entered into a contract to implement and manage a cold storage warehouse serving CET and Baltic countries. As part of this new strategy, Testspring has been tasked with planning, executing, and verifying tests to ensure that the warehouse management system's software and operational processes align with UNILEVER's business process manual. Services offered include: desktop application testing, mobile terminal testing, process testing, adjusting operational procedures, creating workarounds, developing training materials, leading user acceptance testing (UAT) with the client, conducting end-user training, and providing on-site support during the go-live phase.
The Challenge: Operating a 24/7 warehouse with significant daily volumes necessitates continuous uptime and minimal errors, with stringent business processes in place. Bug fixes are handled by the software vendor, and various scenarios need to be tested with interfaces to produce different outcomes. A third-party middleware is situated between Unilever's SAP and Ceva's WMS.
Lessons learned: Dressing appropriately with a hat and scarf is advisable in the chilled warehouse, especially during on-site go-live support. Real-world testing is essential in WMS implementation. Many bugs may emerge during end-user training, so it's prudent to conduct this as early as possible. When dealing with third-party software, one should always be prepared for the possibility that reported bugs may not be resolved, making workarounds necessary in such scenarios.
