A tailored solution for benefits payments

Unknown

Summary Constructiv is an organization that serves the construction industry. It was established as a livelihood fund by the social partners of the Construction Company, which includes Belgian construction worker unions. Their primary focus is on calculating benefits for construction workers. Their tailored web application effectively oversees the management of benefit payments for more than 160,000 Belgian construction workers. Client Challenge The client utilizes an internal enterprise system named CoBen, which consists of multiple microservices responsible for calculating different types of benefit payments for workers, as well as managing debts resulting from overpayments. The challenge was the absence of an automated method to handle these payment processes, especially since each benefit was distinct. Standardizing them presented its own difficulties. Additionally, communication was required between some benefits within the overall system. The solution The resulting product was a custom web application called Finance Service, which now serves as an intermediary between the benefits and their recipients, and vice versa. By employing event sourcing and domain-driven design principles, we successfully standardized the core process while still allowing for necessary modifications to accommodate each unique benefit. Consequently, benefits now function as independent services with their own lifecycles. Due to the project's success, we took on the responsibility for processing outgoing payment requests as well.

A custom built-in quote management solution

Summary: Vivium, a member of the P&V Group, ranks among the top three insurance providers in Belgium. The company offers insurance packages to over 1,000 independent brokers. We developed a tailored solution utilizing Experience APIs to enhance integration with insurtechs, allowing brokers to generate quotes more efficiently. Our implemented Developer Portal includes tools for API monitoring, content management, and issue reporting. Client Challenge: Vivium was using System APIs that were complex and required substantial amounts of data, leading to brokers needing to input excessive information for quotes through insurtechs. The Solution: We created a custom solution that integrates smoothly with insurtech platforms, enabling brokers to generate client quotes with minimal data entry. We chose Experience APIs due to their ease of integration and maintenance, providing a single endpoint for customers. Additionally, we developed a Developer Portal that is accessible to both Vivium's administrators and brokers, streamlining integration with the brokers' systems and managing content.

A solution for processing claim declarations

Summary: Vivium, a part of the P&V Group, ranks among Belgium's top three insurance providers, offering insurance packages through more than 1,000 independent brokers. These brokers serve as intermediaries between insurance firms and end consumers. Our solution incorporates a Decision Table that standardizes and interprets claims from various brokers, facilitating automated processing and minimizing manual work. Client Challenge: Brokers faced difficulties in fully digitizing the claims submission process. While they could enter general information online, the following steps demanded considerable manual effort from Vivium staff. The lack of a uniform method for interpreting each broker's specific standards and message codes added to the complexity, leading to delays and inefficiencies. The Solution: The new system enables Vivium to accept and interpret all broker data, allowing for seamless processing without the need for adjustments to internal applications or procedures. Brokers can now interact directly with Vivium’s insurance systems. To tackle the issue of different brokers' codes, a Decision Table was introduced. Upon claim submission, this table chooses from over 30 main scenarios and 500 variations, guiding the back office on claim processing, even if some information is still pending. Additional default fields and automated API integrations enhance the workflow, reducing the necessity for broker manual input. The Decision Table also empowers the client to independently create and manage new scenarios.
