Reconciliation application (Reconwizz)

NBS Bank

NBS Bank has chosen to improve its reconciliation process for suspense accounts, which was mainly manual, time-consuming, and error-prone. The goal was to create an application to automate and optimize this process. This application is intended to boost efficiency, lower operational costs, reduce errors, and enhance the overall accuracy of reconciliations. In partnership with ADvision Finance, we designed and built the Reconwizz application on our low-code platform over a span of four months. The key features include: - **Data Integration**: The application connects with NBS's current systems and databases to gather transactional data from various sources, including the Temenos T24 Core Banking System, ATM interfaces, cheque clearing, and external entities. - **Matching Engine**: At the heart of the application is an advanced matching engine that compares transactional data sets to identify discrepancies. It utilizes sophisticated algorithms to reconcile transactions based on established rules and criteria. - **Configurable Rules**: Users have the ability to create customizable reconciliation rules based on transaction attributes such as value date, booking date, currency, and counterparty details, tailored to different asset classes and transaction types. - **Exception Handling**: When automatic matching cannot be achieved, the application flags these exceptions for review by reconciliation analysts. - **Reporting & Audit Trail**: It produces reconciliation reports that detail matched transactions, unmatched items, and exceptions while maintaining a comprehensive audit trail of all reconciliation activities, including user actions, comments, and resolutions for compliance and auditing purposes. - **Scalability and Performance**: The application is built to efficiently manage large transaction volumes and can scale to meet the expanding requirements of NBS's operations, ensuring high performance and availability to adhere to strict reconciliation timelines.

Data warehouse and reporting

**Challenge:** The National Bank of Vanuatu encountered difficulties with its outdated reporting system, which limited its ability to fulfill internal and regulatory reporting needs effectively. To resolve this, the bank sought a comprehensive reporting solution that could efficiently accommodate its varied reporting requirements. **Solution:** Partnering with the National Bank of Vanuatu, we undertook a thorough process to revamp their reporting framework and usher in improved efficiency and reliability. Utilizing our expertise in data analysis and banking technology, we developed an advanced solution tailored to the bank's unique specifications. **Implementation:** - **Data Analysis and Design:** We conducted a detailed analysis of over 60 reporting requirements to understand the bank's data environment. This analysis informed the creation of an advanced data warehouse designed to centralize and organize large volumes of data for reporting. - **Integration with Temenos T24:** Leveraging our extensive knowledge of the Temenos T24 Core Banking System (CBS), we seamlessly integrated it with the new data warehouse. This integration allowed for the accurate and timely extraction of daily transaction data from Temenos T24. - **Advanced Reporting System:** Utilizing Sysbu's integrated reporting system, comparable to top Business Intelligence (BI) platforms, our solution can produce reports online in just seconds, regardless of the date range. This functionality enables users to make prompt decisions and efficiently apply data filters. The system offers flexible report formats including tabular layouts, charts, and export options to PDF, Excel, and CSV, ensuring broad data accessibility. Moreover, it features pivot table capabilities, enhancing analytical potential even further.

Integration with National Payment System

Unknown

**Challenge:** The National Bank of Vanuatu aimed for smooth integration with the country's National Payment System (NPS) to improve its operational efficiency and better serve customers. However, this integration brought various challenges, such as incompatible systems and complicated transaction flows. **Solution:** Utilizing our expertise in financial technology, we implemented a strong integration strategy involving Temenos T24 and our innovative low-code platform, Sysbu. By leveraging the capabilities of Temenos T24 alongside Sysbu's flexibility, we enabled efficient transaction exchanges between the National Bank of Vanuatu's core banking system and the NPS. **Implementation:** * **Temenos T24 Integration:** We utilized our extensive understanding of the Temenos T24 core banking system to seamlessly connect it with Sysbu, our proprietary low-code platform. This integration facilitated smooth transaction processing within the bank's core banking framework. * **Sysbu Middleware:** Acting as a middleware solution between the NPS and Temenos T24, Sysbu effectively managed both incoming and outgoing transactions. By employing meticulously crafted process workflows tailored for various message types, Sysbu ensured precise transaction routing and processing, significantly improving operational efficiency. * **User Interface:** Sysbu offered a straightforward interface for bank staff, enabling them to manage important decisions, carry out manual tasks, and monitor transaction activities. Users could easily retrieve pertinent information, receive timely alerts on key events, and produce detailed reports to support informed decision-making.
