LovelySkin redesigns & sees AOV & conversion lifts

LovelySkin faced the challenge of having an internal team of designers who needed to revamp their outdated user interface and experience, but they lacked the resources to validate their designs, resolve internal disagreements, and comprehend how the proposed changes would be received by real customers. They aimed to quickly redesign and relaunch their website while leveraging data to minimize the risk of adversely affecting important business metrics. For four years, LovelySkin had been working with surefoot to optimize their site, yet their branding began to feel dated. The UX research team at surefoot collaborated with LovelySkin’s in-house designers to validate the new designs and gauge customer reactions. They carried out several rounds of one-on-one interviews with LovelySkin customers and tested the design team’s high-fidelity prototypes. As a final step before the launch, surefoot designed and analyzed A/B tests that directly influenced the final design decisions.

Peak Design saves on shipping cost & ups revenue

The issue at hand is that shipping costs are rising, and an analysis showed that Peak Design was significantly losing money on free shipping in the U.S. How Surefoot assisted Peak involved reviewing their initial analysis, which outlined shipping expenses by country and order size. Although they were aware of their losses, they were uncertain about how to effectively recover those costs. Our team examined Peak’s shipping data and conducted additional analysis to pinpoint the areas where losses were highest. By merging their dataset with order information, we established a suitable shipping threshold and fees for orders that fell short of it. We also created and implemented these shipping adjustments within Peak's A/B testing tool and collaborated on updates to their Shopify backend. Subsequently, we rolled out the new shipping experience to all U.S. traffic for a two-week period, ensuring no promotions or unusual ad activities were present (a pre-post test). The results showed that introducing the shipping threshold resulted in significant revenue increases and major reductions in annual shipping expenses!

Product finder quiz leads to conversation lifts

Peak ventured into a completely new category by creating mobile products. True to its style, the entire product range was carefully crafted to function as an integrated ecosystem. However, there was a need for some education, as customers typically purchase cases and a few accessories as separate items. To inform users about the ecosystem and the advantages of buying mobile products together, Peak needed a strategy. How Surefoot assisted: We conducted survey research to better understand users' shopping behaviors regarding phones and accessories, which informed our design and development of a multi-step mobile kit builder that helps users choose the most suitable mobile products for their needs. In addition, we created four quiz entry points that were activated by various user actions. After launching the experience across all devices, we analyzed the results. The post-launch analysis indicated that most users accessed the product finder quiz from the product detail page. Mobile quiz participants had a conversion rate of 5.8%, compared to 1.9% for those who did not take the quiz. Similarly, desktop quiz takers had an 8.5% conversion rate, while those who didn't take the quiz had a rate of 3.1%.
