WEST COAST CRAFTSMAN

This expansive historic craftsman retains many of its original exquisite features, such as fine woodwork, coffered ceilings, stained-glass windows, and butler stairs. However, when the current owners purchased the property, it had been transformed into five separate apartments. Our goal was to streamline the floor plan, merge some bedrooms, and restore the house. The design considered the homeowners’ wish for a monochromatic living room and primary bedroom, while incorporating playful and bold elements in other areas. By blending realistic and abstract styles, vibrant and subdued tones, and curvilinear with geometric shapes, the aim was to celebrate the comfortable elegance of Craftsmans while crafting a completely new aesthetic experience.

ARTISTIC WESTSIDE BUNGALOW

This Californian Bungalow, nestled among mature trees and greenery, defies conventional design norms. We created a strikingly dark and atmospheric primary bedroom suite, paired with a bright and airy guest bathroom and a feminine guest bedroom/office. The bungalow underwent significant renovations, transforming two bedrooms and two bathrooms that initially had a cramped layout and minimal storage, and outdated fixtures. We redesigned these spaces to make the most of the available square footage while tailoring them to the clients' needs. Background: The homeowners had been at this property for several years but found its size, layout, and storage options no longer suited their lifestyle. They first considered moving, but upon searching for a new home, they realized they preferred to renovate their current space. Design Brief: The homeowners envisioned a cozy, luxurious atmosphere reminiscent of a boutique hotel for the primary suite, alongside a tranquil and serene guest bathroom.

DESERT OASIS

The distinctive desert setting and historical factors were so integral that it was impractical to change or eliminate them; they had to be preserved. Although the traditional Southwestern, Ranch, and Mediterranean architectural styles captured the essence of the community, they frequently clashed with the client's vision of a clean, soothing, and modern look. We incorporated straightforward, rustic, and sculptural details while using white as the main interior color to minimize the prominence of ceiling beams, window latices, and other elements that made the area feel smaller.
