Porsche Mobile Apps

Porsche, the well-known automobile manufacturer, collaborated with STRV to streamline its extensive range of applications into a single, comprehensive My Porsche app, which is essential for customers looking to connect their smartphones to their vehicles. Having been a long-term partner since 2020, STRV assigned a dedicated team of engineers specializing in iOS, Android, frontend, and backend development, along with a designer and a product manager, to the project. The app was launched in 2021 and has since attracted over 150,000 active users, approximately half the number the web platform garnered over six years. Porsche’s Chief Product Officer described these outcomes as “a tremendous success,” remarking, “These individuals are among the best we’ve collaborated with to date.”

Barry's X Digital Platform

Barry's

Barry's high-intensity interval training is famous for its unmatched energy at over 80 locations worldwide. Now, that vibrant experience—complete with hundreds of on-demand and live virtual classes—is available in a single app: Barry’s X. Developed by STRV, the creation of Barry's X involved integrating the existing reservation system and transitioning the entire user base to the new platform. We launched apps for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Apple Watch, Android phones, Tablets, Web, Web Admin, and a Web Membership app to enhance the in-app experience. Today, Barry's X stands as the first community-driven digital fitness platform, effectively blending essential elements of an in-person studio experience into a digital format. It also features a social networking aspect that connects members of the global Barry's community, offers fully customizable privacy settings, and provides exclusive membership opportunities.

The Athletic Mobile Apps

The Athletic

The Athletic has redefined sports journalism, demonstrating since its launch in January 2016 that passionate fans are willing to pay for top-notch, in-depth content. STRV developed the Athletic app from the ground up, beginning work on the iOS version while The Athletic was still in the early stages of Y Combinator. Our three senior iOS engineers quickly produced a functioning MVP for the YC judges, which helped The Athletic secure significant funding in its seed round. As coverage grew, we completely overhauled the app multiple times while ensuring the UI remained simple and user-friendly. Throughout the development process, we proposed specific interactions and animations, collaborating with The Athletic’s designer to create a distinctive user interface featuring parallax animations and gestures.
