The primary objective of Stepwise was to demonstrate that the existing on-premises architecture could be transitioned to a cloud environment to enhance performance. The Proof of Concept needed to show that cloud technologies could effectively integrate with current data sets and sources. One of the challenges was to prove that the new cloud-based solution could seamlessly connect with existing data and sources, while also allowing for real-time or nearly real-time report generation. Another challenge involved preparing the infrastructure to accommodate anticipated growth in geospatial data, projected to increase by hundreds of gigabytes daily. The proposed solution for the Proof of Concept aimed to create a system that would leverage Dataflow to process data from various customer sources in parallel. The next step involved using BigQuery for data processing, followed by the development of a geospatial data visualization using BigQuery Geo Viz. The results demonstrated that the use of BigQuery and Dataflow significantly minimizes infrastructure maintenance costs while ensuring scalability with data growth. This enables the customer to concentrate on data analysis rather than maintenance. Moreover, we confirmed that data analysis, report generation, and visualization could all be accomplished in less than a minute using BigQuery and Geo Viz.

**Project Overview** International flights necessitate landing and overflight permits. Currently, the entire documentation process is performed manually, heightening the risk of human error. There is a significant need to enhance the permit application procedure. **Key Challenge** The primary objective was to develop a solution to address the manual creation of permits. Each year, 3,000 permits are issued, requiring 10,000 documents, with around 80 aircraft originating from a single carrier. Mistakes in applications can lead to serious consequences, such as delays and cancellations, resulting in substantial financial losses and complications. The challenge was to devise a reliable and effective solution that fulfills the stringent standards of the industry. **Our Strategy** Our Product Design team recommended a customized UX design approach. We started with a Discovery phase to fully understand the client's needs and requirements. This process allowed us to gather vital insights for identifying and organizing areas to optimize the flight permit acquisition process. Consequently, we developed an interactive prototype equipped with robust features to meet user objectives. Usability tests conducted with the target audience validated the application's intuitiveness and user-friendliness, boosting the client’s confidence that the initiative was on the right track. **Final Results** One participant remarked, "The application process is straightforward, easy, and intuitive," affirming the importance of our chosen approach in creating a valuable product. Our client's creative vision was effectively transformed by our Product Design team into a practical solution. As a result, we successfully delivered an interactive prototype that served as the basis for the Minimum Viable Product (MVP). Within just three months, this enabled the client to showcase the product to potential investors and customers!

Artificial Intelligence in Industry 4.0

**Project Background** Manufacturing efficiency in factories is influenced by a variety of ever-changing factors. Machine operators and skilled production staff must continuously monitor specific production stages and respond promptly when necessary. These manual technical tasks can take several hours, leading to bottlenecks in the manufacturing process. Therefore, companies often rely heavily on the expertise and skills of their personnel. Stabilis, a firm focused on intelligent applications for Industry 4.0, sought to address these challenges with our assistance. **Main Challenge** Our objective was to develop an algorithm that collects data from manufacturing machines and recommends when and how to adjust settings. A key challenge in this project was the inability to gather and process additional data, especially from the environment. Consequently, we needed to create an additional algorithm to determine if any existing data sets included information crucial for the main algorithm and to extract that specific data. **Our Approach** We began by reviewing and analyzing the data that the customer already had. Our team created an algorithm that identified when adjustments to the parameters and settings of a manufacturing machine were necessary and indicated which changes would enhance production. We utilized Python and Scikit-learn libraries for software development, and the complete software solution was packaged as a Docker image along with thorough documentation for the customer. **Final Outcome** The Stepwise team developed algorithms that can recommend necessary adjustments to the settings of manufacturing equipment. With this technology, manufacturing companies can now swiftly and significantly optimize their machine settings, leading to improved production efficiency and reduced consumption of raw materials and other supplies.
