About the Team

OUR STORY

Founded in 2016 by brothers Andrew and Alex Vasylyk in Ternopil, Ukraine, StartupSoft began as a small team passionate about enhancing in-house capabilities with remote, top-tier talent. Over the years, they cultivated long-term relationships with clients like Westrive and Madefire, emphasizing trust and cultural fit in team augmentation. Expanding to Lviv, a major tech hub near Poland, their workforce has grown to 170 experts across multiple locations including Krakow, San Francisco, and Toronto, maintaining an impressive 90% employee retention rate largely driven by referrals. Committed to social responsibility, they established a charity fund to support Ukraine amidst conflict, contributing over 10 million UAH and providing life-saving gear. StartupSoft champions equality, proactive collaboration, and flexible work arrangements, underpinning their global presence and client satisfaction.

Ostro — engagement platform for healthcare

Ostro

Ostro, formerly known as RxDefine, is a health tech startup that provides consumers with instant access to health-related information, products, and services. Founded by Ahmed Elsayyad, Chase Feiger, and Ryan Junee, Ostro has secured over $10 million in funding from leading venture capital firms, with more details available in Forbes. The company encountered three primary challenges: 1. **Speed**: Rapidly hiring and onboarding skilled engineering professionals. 2. **Cost**: Maintaining a manageable burn rate as a startup. 3. **Effort**: Prioritizing product development and marketing over recruitment. To tackle these issues, Ostro's leadership and marketing operations are situated in Los Angeles, while a remote engineering team was established in Lviv through StartupSoft. Ostro maintains full ownership of this team, with StartupSoft managing local operations and administration. As a result, Ostro successfully hired 11 engineers, designers, QA specialists, and product/project managers, achieving over 45% cost savings compared to local hires in Los Angeles. After 1.5 years, there has been no turnover in the remote team. "StartupSoft enabled us to ramp up a top-tier engineering team in half the time it would have taken us. The future of work is remote!" stated Ahmed Elsayyad, Founder & President of Ostro.
