The Client: Washington University in St. Louis (WashU) is a renowned global research institution, ranked 7th worldwide for the number of highly-cited researchers and home to 26 Nobel Prize winners. Established in 1853, the university is committed to serving a diverse community. The Challenge: The PreHealth Advising team at WashU needed a more effective method to assist undergraduate students who are preparing for careers in medicine and health fields. The previous approach, which relied on emails, spreadsheets, and scattered resources, was cumbersome and lacked clarity regarding student progress. The Goal: By creating a centralized, digital-first platform, the university aims to enhance the PreHealth advising process, improve student access, and streamline workflows for all stakeholders involved. The Solution: We developed a customized web application using Drupal, tailored to meet the specific needs of each user group.
