Sparkfactor began with a spark in 1997 when George Lowe and Jack Sonta, inspired by a moment in Chicago’s Greek Town, launched their own media company called Lowtide Images, Ltd. Their logo featured a starfish, symbolizing their fresh start. By 2000, their journey brought them to Wicker Park where they evolved into Sparkfactor, expanding their offerings beyond the original CD-i. Today, Sparkfactor is a dynamic creative agency providing advertising, design, branding, strategy, and comprehensive multimedia services. With extensive experience handling content and campaigns for a diverse range of businesses, the team, led by George and supported by skilled professionals like Vishnu and Ingrid, is passionately committed to delivering compelling productions that ignite clients' visions.

On Devon Neighborhood Branding and Ad Campaign

Devon Avenue, situated in the Rogers Park area of Chicago, aimed to highlight the neighborhood's diversity and its local businesses. We began by interviewing business owners and gathering data through surveys to better understand the community, its residents, and the entrepreneurs. This area is affectionately referred to as Little India due to the abundance of Indian restaurants and clothing stores on Devon. Our goal was to emphasize the well-known features of the neighborhood while also revealing the hidden gems it holds. We developed an identity centered around the name OnDevon, with the tagline “Down the Street and Around the World.” The advertising campaign aimed to promote the local businesses. We spent a day capturing photographs of business owners, employees, and others within the various shops on Devon and Western, showcasing the community's warmth and cultural diversity. We designed a logo and established branding guidelines for OnDevon, which detail the colors used for the logo and ads, the proper spacing for different advertising elements, and an explanation of the significance of these guidelines. First Financial Credit Union Branding and Ad Campaign

We collaborated with First Financial Credit Union to refresh their brand by updating their logo and developing a brand guidelines document. Following this, we redesigned their website. Their goal was to attract new members, so we crafted print, web, and billboard advertisements for the campaign. Additionally, we oversaw their geofenced digital campaign, placed billboards, and published print ads in local newspapers, as well as produced an in-store video for their anniversary.
