We don’t aim to sell to our clients. It’s not that we never attempted to—there were Coupon Books, Girl Scout Cookies, Band Candy, and more. We weren't very successful at it, perhaps because our focus was on just getting rid of the products. Back then, we didn’t realize that people dislike being sold to. It turns out that customers aren’t just shopping; they want to connect with what they’re buying. People can see through tricks, but they are open to friendship. So, instead of trying to make a sale, we focus on building friendships at work, as friends are enjoyable and reliable. When it comes down to it, who would you prefer to do business with—a stranger or a friend? This is why our approach is so effective. It’s not about us; it’s about our friends. In the end, we don’t have to force a sale, which is fortunate because we were never very good at that!
