Formic

Challenge Formic initiated its collaboration with SoftTeco in 2022, seeking to augment its in-house team with skilled backend developers to enhance its current data collection and processing system. Throughout our collaboration, Formic also sought SoftTeco's help with mobile app development, as we already had a comprehensive understanding of the system and possessed the necessary skills and expertise to provide the required solution. Solution Formic is a comprehensive solution that integrates advanced hardware in the form of Robots-as-a-Service with robust software to support robotic automation. It employs IoT sensors to gather data from its robots, including their current status (online or offline) and the number of tasks each robot has completed, among other metrics. SoftTeco restructured and optimized the existing data collection and processing system to accommodate the increasing volume of IoT-generated data. We also participated in migrating the system to the AWS cloud and supported the deployment of multiple AWS IoT services, such as Greengrass, Sitewise, and IoT Core. Consequently, the backend admin panel is now capable of processing diverse data formats and integrates with over six external services, including Salesforce and Datadog. To aid clients in decision-making, Formic utilizes an internal AR application that operates offline, showcasing how robots will fit into various environments. This app is developed using Unity with the Vuforia Engine library, and our team handled its configuration and management, including the animations and 3D models of the robots. Furthermore, SoftTeco improved the existing mobile app for robot operators and created a cross-platform mobile app for end users. This application allows for remote monitoring of robots, tracking their usage and system health, and live streaming of tasks being performed by the robots.

Supersapiens

**Challenge**: The primary difficulty was to create a website and a mobile application for both Android and iOS from the ground up. The client required a reliable and secure solution to assist athletes in tracking and maintaining their glucose levels during and after training to enhance their performance. Additionally, the mobile app needed to interface with the biosensor utilized by the client. **Solution**: Supersapiens is a mobile app available for both iOS and Android that connects with the Abbott Libre Sense glucose sport biosensor. This biosensor gathers real-time glucose information, which the app presents in a user-friendly manner, enabling athletes to monitor and regulate their glucose levels and nutritional efficiency throughout their training and competitions. The application also integrates with external platforms such as Garmin, TrainingPeaks, and Apple Health. Collaborating with the client’s team, SoftTeco also developed a user-friendly website for Supersapiens that securely manages user data in line with international security standards. The website offers valuable information regarding the app's compatibility with external devices and lists the supported wearables. Users can choose from various monthly subscription options, which differ in the number of biosensors and performance patches, while the app itself is available for free download. **Results**: SoftTeco worked effectively alongside the client’s internal development team to deliver a high-performing, user-friendly solution that met all client specifications. Our team is continuously engaged in expanding the app's capabilities, enhancing the website, and incorporating additional integrations.

Banana AI

A client approached SoftTeco seeking an innovative AI-powered solution for the observation, management, and monitoring of banana tree cultivation in greenhouses and plantations. The goal was to automate agronomists' routine tasks and quickly identify any issues. **Business Challenge** The client's concept involved creating a computer vision system to automatically inspect banana seedling leaves for damage and classify them. A significant hurdle we encountered was the absence of sufficient data to train the algorithm. **Solution** Based on our advice, the client strategically installed object-detecting cameras in the greenhouse, primarily situated above and to the side. These cameras take periodic images of banana seedlings, with a customizable capture frequency according to the client’s needs. SoftTeco developed a software module to extract images of the detected leaves, which are then sent to the classifier model for detailed analysis. Our experts designed and refined the classifier model, which accurately differentiates between damaged and healthy leaves in the images. After the analysis, the model produces a comprehensive PDF report detailing the plant's condition and offering valuable care advice. **Key Features and Results** SoftTeco has not only created and refined the classification model with great attention to detail, but we have also ensured it meets the specific needs of the project. The client is extremely pleased with the results and continues to collaborate with us on additional projects.
