ABOUT SOCIALECTRICWebsite infrastructure for NGOs under scrutiny
I have been professionally building websites for seven years, gaining experience in e-commerce, professional services, and home services before narrowing my focus to NGOs and nonprofits. This specialization is intentional, as NGO websites often face unique challenges that typical web consulting does not address. These issues include missing or poorly organized governance documents, stakeholder journeys that fail to meet funder expectations, accessibility issues that expose organizations to regulatory risks, and content management difficulties that overwhelm the sole individual responsible for these tasks. My work prioritizes creating websites that can endure scrutiny from major donors, institutional funders, regulators, and the public, especially during leadership changes, funding increases, or heightened accountability periods. Each project starts with a Blueprint Audit, a thorough assessment that outlines stakeholder priorities, uncovers technical and governance issues, and results in a report for the Board with clear findings and recommendations. This audit is priced at £2,500 and can be done independently; there’s no obligation to continue, and you will retain the report regardless of subsequent decisions. Organizations that choose to proceed typically enter into a Monthly Partnership, a subscription model that includes all Webflow design and development tasks, with a turnaround time of 2-4 days. I operate independently rather than through an agency, as this work necessitates consistency, immediate decision-making, and true accountability, which can be challenging in agency settings. Every audit and implementation choice comes directly from me. I am based in Manchester and collaborate with organizations throughout the UK, Europe, and beyond.
