Seeed developed a native integration between Square POS and Zenchef, France's top reservation platform, to support Square's strategic growth into the French and broader European hospitality markets. This initiative connects digital bookings with on-site operations, specifically tailored for mid-market restaurants (generating over $20M in revenue) that need a cohesive view of the guest experience without the difficulties associated with manual data handling. **The Challenge:** Operational Fragmentation in High-Volume FSRs Mid-market full-service restaurants often face "split-brain" operations: Zenchef manages reservations, while Square handles guest spending and table status. This disconnection leads to several issues: - **Service Delays:** Hosts must manually create checks when guests arrive. - **Data Inaccuracy:** Guest spending histories and dietary preferences fail to sync with the CRM. - **Capacity Waste:** Real-time table availability in the POS isn't reflected on the booking platform. **The Solution:** Direct Bidirectional Synchronization We created a robust integration using Square’s Orders, Customers, and Locations APIs, combined with Zenchef’s webhook system, to establish a smooth operational loop. **Key Engineering Milestones:** - **Automated "Seated" Logic:** A real-time trigger was implemented so that when a host marks a guest as "Seated" in Zenchef, a check is automatically created in Square POS, with the proper table number assigned.
