Due to the tight timeline, Sealion's Air Freight team couldn’t utilize Ocean Freight Services. So, how did we ensure that KOTN’s important air shipment reached Canada on schedule? Innovative Solutions from Sealion’s Air Freight Team Our Air Freight team devised a unique approach by establishing an air bridge with a partner in Morocco. The goods arrived in Morocco, passed through Customs, and received the necessary re-export documentation. Remarkably, the shipment was en route to Pearson Airport within 18 hours of departing Egypt. However, there was a challenge: the rerouting through Morocco meant that the flight would land on Christmas Day. Recognizing the urgency of the shipment, the Sealion team once again stepped up. Just hours after the cargo left Morocco, Sealion coordinated with our pick-up team to ensure they were ready at Toronto Pearson (YYZ). Jose, Christopher, and his seven-year-old daughter, Josie, wore Christmas elf hats and waited for the aircraft at the Air Canada Cargo Terminal. While our Air Freight team handled the customs clearance during the flight, the Christmas Crew was on the ground prepared to unload the cargo. By leveraging Sealion’s extensive network of partner agents across all continents, we assist companies like KOTN in delivering essential air freight shipments to Canada punctually, even amid significant unpredictability. In our largest project to date, Sealion Cargo’s skilled team facilitated the transfer of over 25,000 miners from China to two key Canadian airports. Leveraging our robust international logistics network, we were able to complete the operation within 72 hours of the first phone call, with the first of the 8 aircraft landing in Calgary. The scale of this project was so significant that it surpassed the airport's short-term cargo capacity. Working in partnership with the YYC Airport Authority, we secured additional space on airport grounds, ultimately moving the crypto miners to our secure facilities in Calgary and Toronto. Large-scale relocations like these demand a high level of professionalism, collaboration, and problem-solving—values that our team embodies. By communicating effectively in both English and Chinese, we successfully expedited the movement of these miners, minimizing operational downtime.
