**BACKGROUND** Introduce your business and what you do there. I am the owner of HSD Investment, a company founded a few years ago with the goal of developing IT solutions for the construction industry. **OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE** What challenge were you trying to address with Setapp? We engaged Setapp to assist us in creating a web-based application. **SOLUTION** What was the scope of their involvement? I discovered a couple of years ago that many individuals are now opting for a DIY approach to building their homes. Instead of performing all the work themselves, they hire different construction teams for various parts of the project, rather than relying on a single contractor to handle everything. We aimed to develop an application that would support users in constructing their own homes by integrating multiple facets of the building process. We created a manual for homeowners outlining step-by-step instructions for safe construction and highlighting critical considerations to keep in mind. The application functions like a project management tool, offering features for budget calculation and monitoring costs and progress through each stage of development. Initially, we brainstormed with Setapp two or three times to refine the concept. I shared my vision without technical know-how, and they translated my ideas into programming language. Setapp handled all aspects of development, including UI/UX design. I provided prototypes, documentation, and various design concepts, which they turned into a reality. We also selected the technology stack used by the team. Setapp facilitated the involvement of construction professionals to offer technical support and guide us through the project execution. We have recently commenced the second phase of the project. **What is the team composition?** The team composition varied depending on the project's phase, consisting of front- and backend developers, a project manager, and a UI/UX designer. I personally met 5-6 team members but was unaware of the total number working behind the scenes. **How did you come to work with Setapp?** Since there was no comparable solution available in the market, we sought a company capable of developing and implementing our application concept. After issuing a tender for this project, we discussed our idea with Setapp and received an attractive proposal from their team, prompting us to hire them. **How much have you invested with them?** We have invested around 1.2 million zloty (approximately $313,000 USD). **What is the status of this engagement?** We began the project in November 2020 and completed it by the end of March 2021. **RESULTS & FEEDBACK** What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? I can confidently say the collaboration was excellent, and we are very pleased with the results. I have previously worked with similar agencies, but Setapp's approach was truly unique. I was pleasantly surprised and can only speak highly of the team. From project preparation to coordination, they effectively addressed and resolved all issues throughout the process. I am extremely satisfied with their work and have decided to enlist them again for the second phase of application development. **How did Setapp perform from a project management standpoint?** They performed exceptionally well. Setapp organized the development process into milestones, and we held weekly calls to check progress, assess timelines, and ensure we stayed within budget, which worked out effectively. I never encountered issues with deadlines or incomplete tasks. They are true professionals, and the team involved in my project was highly competent. We utilized Jira for reporting and they granted me access to some of their design applications. While I can't recall the names of all the other tools we used, our primary communication was through Slack and occasionally email. **What did you find most impressive about them?** Their proactive problem-solving approach was particularly impressive. We had consulted with other companies that deemed my idea unfeasible, but Setapp genuinely made an effort to bring it to life. From our first meeting, it was evident that they were committed to the project and focused on finding solutions. **Are there any areas they could improve?** I wouldn’t change anything.
