Kompas-3D embodiments editor

**Challenge:** Development of a configurator for rapid design of multiple detail variations. Previously, users of Kompas-3D could create only one component version at a time and had to manually alter model variable values. This design method was inadequate for mechanical engineers, as each product could have numerous configuration variations. Consequently, Kompas-3D users approached Ascon, the CAD system’s provider, requesting the ability to design multiple detail variations simultaneously. Ascon assigned this task to Rubius, a reliable partner with whom they had collaborated on several projects. **Solution:** Automatic generation of detail variations based on a variables table. Rubius has introduced a completely new method for managing variations in Kompas-3D. Users can now create and modify model configurations using a value table. By inputting new variables, users can develop hundreds of new detail versions with a single click. **Features of the Rubius embodiments editor for Kompas-3D:** - Establishing relationships between model parameters - Generating a variable values table from these relationships - Creating dependent and independent variations based on table variables - Modifying existing versions through the value table - Importing the value table in .xls format - Managing the structure of detail and assembly versions **Implementation Results:** - **Increased Productivity:** Designers can create hundreds of variations in one operation. - **Improved Quality:** The incidence of design errors due to human factors has decreased. - **Reduced Load on Designers:** Automation of routine tasks allows employees to focus on new projects.

Esprit CAM and Kompas-3D CAD integration

**Challenge** Ensure accurate data transfer between Esprit and Kompas-3D. Esprit CAM is a CNC machine programming system developed by DP Technology, a US-based company. It ranks among the top 10 CAM systems globally, with notable users such as Boeing, NASA, Audi, and Ford. To expand its presence in the Russian market, Esprit needed integration with Kompas-3D, a widely used CAD system in Russia. Previously, engineers had to convert Kompas-3D models to the intermediate STL format, perform manual adjustments, and correct any errors, resulting in increased production time and costs. The official distributor of Esprit in Russia approached us to facilitate integration with Kompas-3D. **Solution** We developed the Kompas FX integration module to enable accurate transfer of 3D models, drawings, assemblies, and specifications from Kompas-3D to Esprit. The Rubius team created this module to transfer model geometry (including its layered version) and accompanying data. Upon module installation, both Esprit and Kompas-3D interfaces received additional file exchange tabs. **Kompas FX features for Esprit users include:** - Editing model topology and reading object properties - Editing component and assembly versions and selecting geometry for machining algorithms - Supporting model continuity between Esprit and Kompas-3D - Saving the model tree as an Esprit file (.esp) - Recalculating model size within tolerance limits: to the midpoint of the tolerance range, as well as to the upper and lower limits - Viewing component specifications **Kompas FX features for Kompas-3D users include:** - Generating G-code for 2.5-axis milling directly from Kompas-3D After implementing the integration module, we maintained our partnership with the company for an additional six years, continually adding new features as updates for Esprit and Kompas-3D were released. **Implementation Results** 1. **Market Leadership**: Esprit achieved the most advanced integration with Kompas-3D among CAM systems in Russia, resulting in increased local sales. 2. **Enhanced Productivity and Cost Reduction**: Rapid data transfer from CAD to CAM and file associativity allowed designers and engineers to work on the same model concurrently, significantly reducing wait times and improving efficiency. 3. **Quality Improvement**: Users could work with Kompas-3D files in Esprit without the need for prior conversion, ensuring accurate geometry transfer from designers to engineers and minimizing production defects.

At the request of a major international corporation, Rubius developed a web-based system that rapidly creates videos from provided text. To produce a video, users simply need to upload the script for the digital presenter, select the presenter's attire, and choose a background. The program then generates a real-time video featuring the avatar reading the uploaded script, which can be broadcast on television or online. The system offers users the ability to: ● convert text into natural speech while considering punctuation, intonation, and difficult word pronunciation ● create lifelike facial expressions for a digital avatar based on the synthesized speech ● integrate the generated face into video frames using key points ● select a background from a library to enhance the frames ● produce a Full HD (1920×1080 px) video from the frames and synchronize it with the audio ● stream the completed video to selected platforms (such as web players and TVs). This system was built using deep neural networks trained on video and audio recordings of human presenters. Outcomes of the Project As a result of research and development, the client now has a commercially viable product, which has been patented. Looking ahead, the digital avatar could serve as a TV presenter, actor, teacher, video assistant, or consultant.
