About the Team

OUR STORY

Rational Boxes champions companies beyond Silicon Valley, recognizing that many businesses across varied industries, distant from tech trends, need tailored technological solutions that drive profitability. Nestled in Washington state's scenic lower Columbia region near Portland, Oregon, the company balances innovation with the tranquility of nature, benefiting from proximity to tech hubs like Portland and Seattle. Founded by an enthusiastic owner and CEO, a seasoned software developer and Linux advocate since the late 1990s, Rational Boxes takes pride in crafting elegant, efficient software solutions. Their diverse team includes passionate full-stack developers blending coding with other interests. As they expand, Rational Boxes invites talented developers, project managers, and B2B marketing experts to join their dynamic journey.

Portfolio

Nama Shopify store overhaul

Nama

Nama has developed a highly sought-after juicing appliance that emphasizes health and wellness. The company originally utilized the Shopify platform for its online store, but it did not include features for post-sale customer engagement or sufficient support. Due to the complexity of the main Nama product, technical support issues are unavoidable, and the standard Shopify setup lacks the necessary capabilities for such support. Additionally, with the Nama Juicer's popularity and ongoing supply chain challenges, the product frequently runs out of stock for customers in regions like the Americas and Europe. The basic out-of-stock sales support does not effectively convert potential buyers when they are uncertain about delivery timelines. To address these concerns, Rational Boxes collaborated with Nama’s design team and ShiloRune to create a cutting-edge solution for providing informative resources that enhance customer experience. Enhanced integration with Zen Desk for handling support inquiries optimizes customer assistance. A more refined search function for support and FAQ materials simplifies the process for customers seeking helpful documentation on their own. To mitigate failed purchases due to stock shortages, a tailored logistics solution offers shoppers precise information regarding product availability.

Touch screen dashboards

World Trade Center, Portland Oregon

The interactive tenant directory includes featured articles and other helpful information accessible on various screens within a touch display setup. The project was developed using technologies commonly found in complex websites, with Google Chrome operating in full-screen mode, the Drupal CMS managing data, and jQuery along with supplementary libraries powering the front-end interface. It utilized Drupal 8 in Headless mode along with extra modules for jQuery and other support.

Green Canary custom application

EcoREAL Solutions

This distinctive vertical market application is designed for construction and remodeling projects aiming to obtain LEED Green Construction Certification as established by the USGBC. The application workflow employs a novel method that allows end-users to input data via spreadsheet files, giving them the option to avoid direct interaction with the online application. The advanced processing of XLSX files enables the proper execution of spreadsheet macros, allowing users to utilize Excel's sophisticated features. This application has proven successful in multi-billion dollar construction and renovation endeavors.
