I serve as the Chief Product Officer at CardieX Ltd, a company that specializes in medical devices focusing on blood pressure. **OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE** What issues were you aiming to resolve with December Labs? We needed to quickly expand our development team because we were having difficulty finding qualified internal resources experienced in connected devices like wearables. This led us to engage December Labs. **SOLUTION** What was the nature of their involvement? December Labs has been tasked with developing several of our components. We have an internal technical lead, and they provide the skilled software engineers we need. Currently, we are working on a native iOS and Android application as well as a cloud-based app, alongside a web portal and an Android tablet app. We are using native technologies suitable for each platform. The app's primary function is to serve as an interface for our connected devices. In addition to development services, December Labs also offers QA and UI/UX support, as well as managing our tablet app product. December Labs has assigned mid- to senior-level professionals to our projects, including one Android developer and one iOS developer. For our web portal, we have a cloud system architect and a QA expert. We started collaborating in May 2021, and we have recently celebrated our one-year partnership. **RESULTS & FEEDBACK** Can you provide evidence of the engagement’s impact? Similar to most development teams, we operate in an agile environment and regularly assess the pace of our sprints. So far, our team has maintained a steady rhythm, and while we've continued to expand our workload, we have experienced no issues with the capabilities of December Labs. **PROJECT MANAGEMENT PERFORMANCE** How did December Labs perform in project management? We utilize Jira extensively for managing projects and Teams for communication. As we work towards FDA approval, thorough documentation is crucial. We hold numerous standup meetings weekly, along with frequent screen-sharing sessions. December Labs has been responsive during our regular sprint discussions. **IMPRESSIONS OF DECEMBER LABS** What impressed you the most about them? December Labs is swift to act and has seamlessly integrated into our team. They consistently exceed expectations and show genuine passion for their work. When challenges arise, they are open in asking for and providing feedback. As a startup, we appreciate their readiness to assist us whenever needed. Overall, they have truly become a part of our team, which is rare from my experience with other contractors. **AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT** Are there any areas for improvement? No, I don’t see any areas requiring improvement. The team is usually proactive in addressing our challenges. Any improvement would largely revolve around our company's growth and challenges. **ADVICE FOR POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS** What advice would you give to potential customers? Be clear about the expertise you need. Remember, you often get what you pay for. While cheaper alternatives exist, December Labs offers excellent value for the quality they provide. Trust that they will assign capable individuals to your project and strive to do the right thing.
