For one of our current clients, we have developed a Genetic Algorithm script designed to explore various configurations of a trading simulation. The purpose of the algorithm was to optimize and refine the input parameters to achieve the highest possible desirability (fitness) results from the simulations. This algorithm was implemented on AWS EC2, using multiple instances as necessary to ensure that the simulations were completed promptly. We established connections with manager nodes via Web Sockets. In order to reduce computation expenses for the client, certain fitness calculations were vectorized.

Machine learning model for identifying delayed flights For our client, a startup in the US, we developed a machine learning model to assist in their decision-making processes. The model effectively distinguished between delayed and on-time flights, achieving impressive metrics in the confusion matrix. Our Data Science team had the chance to address the challenge of training on an imbalanced dataset. We experimented with various approaches, including XGBoost, Random Forest, Logistic Regression, and Decision Trees. Additionally, we incorporated some innovative feature engineering using Graph embedding techniques, which made the project particularly enjoyable for us. The client was very pleased with the high accuracy, precision, and recall we achieved. We continue to work on this project, exploring new avenues and advancing towards a fully operational production pipeline.
