Portfolio

COMPLEX BIM INTEGRATION

Unknown

Our client, a UK-based start-up that designs modular units, encountered challenges as their customer base expanded. The main difficulties included: 1. Inefficient workflows in 2D drafting and 3D visualization; 2. Manual calculations and bill of materials (BOM) generation; 3. Poor product quality due to an insufficient division of labor. Our team transformed CAD blocks into Revit families and templates while greatly enlarging the company’s content libraries. Additionally, we introduced the client, who had no prior experience with Revit, to the Revit-BIM workflow. During the initial attempts at BIM design, we identified key challenges and explored promising avenues for optimization. We successfully resolved these issues, minimizing their impact on design speed and effectiveness. Our engineering team took charge of the design process, continuously enhancing the product through a robust supervision system. Throughout the optimization phase, we discovered potential methods for automating the entire design process. We identified ways to improve productivity through Dynamo scripts and to establish a highly automated, user-friendly design workflow utilizing the Revit API. As a result, the innovative solutions we implemented can potentially transform operations for such start-ups. We take pride in our achievements: we halved the design time for each project, tripled work efficiency, and delivered error-free final products with added value.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY VIA INSIGHT + DIALUX

Unknown

At Powerkh, we leverage tools such as Autodesk Insight and DIALux to maximize outcomes for ourselves and our clients. Autodesk Insight allows us to view the model from different angles. By creating an Energy Model, we gain access to an extensive, web-based database that visualizes essential project information. Insight also provides interactive spreadsheets, which let us tailor project solutions without altering the model itself. This capability enables us to evaluate the model to fulfill the 2030 Challenge requirements in just one hour. DIALux Evo streamlines the lighting design process by enabling us to quickly create optimized layouts. As DIALux only employs licensed equipment, it enhances communication between designers and manufacturers. By connecting the DIALux file with a Dynamo script, we can effortlessly transfer the lighting design into Revit for a quick and seamless integration. Complex issues call for straightforward solutions. With Autodesk Insight and DIALux, we can conduct thorough energy model analyses and create lighting designs without the steep learning curve associated with new software. Let's tackle these challenges together—at Powerkh!
