Museum Store Sunday | PR & Influencer Marketing
Project Highlights: Summary: While many are familiar with museum stores, their broader influence is often overlooked. To address this, the Museum Store Association initiated Museum Store Sunday in 2017. Annually, on the Sunday following Thanksgiving, numerous museums and their stores host special events, offer discounts, and provide unique, eco-friendly, and locally crafted gifts that benefit their communities. Aiming to raise awareness of this shopping initiative and achieve record success in 2023, the Museum Store Association enlisted The Postcard Agency to design and implement a retail PR and influencer marketing strategy that proved effective. Our PR initiatives garnered over 300 media placements for the shopping event, spanning TV, digital, print, and radio platforms, yielding an advertising value equivalency of $1.39 million based on approximately 3.78 million media impressions. Museum Store Sunday received extensive coverage in notable publications from major cities across the U.S., such as the Boston Globe, Dallas Morning News, San Francisco Chronicle, Philadelphia Tribune, and Austin-American Statesman. The initiative was also highlighted in several television segments in major markets nationwide, stretching from Los Angeles to Chicago to New York, with many segments lasting 5 minutes or more, offering significant exposure on CBS, NBC, ABC, and other networks. Additionally, our TikTok and Instagram influencer marketing campaign drove both in-store and online sales through innovative partnerships with content creators in cities including New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Seattle, Denver, and San Francisco.
