Planet Argon

At Planet Argon, we believe that quality software should have a long lifespan.

For over 20 years, we've partnered with organizations that depend on Ruby on Rails applications as integral parts of their operations. These applications represent years of hard work and investment. Too often, we find that teams mistakenly think the only solution is to scrap everything and start anew, which is often risky, costly, and unnecessary.

Our goal is to assist teams in extending the longevity of their existing software. We enhance and adapt Rails applications to ensure they remain dependable, manageable, and prepared for future challenges. In doing so, we provide organizations with benefits that a complete rewrite cannot: continuity, momentum, and the assurance to keep delivering.

Most of our clients don’t require a large in-house engineering team. Some have struggled with a rotating cast of freelancers, while others depend on a single, overwhelmed developer. What they actually need is a middle ground: a reliable team without the burden of full-time staff. That’s where we step in.

Through upgrade initiatives, ongoing maintenance agreements, and fractional development support, we assist companies in avoiding expensive rewrites and redirecting their efforts towards growth.

Every system has a narrative involving people, teams, and dedicated work. We value that effort, guiding organizations to evolve their applications rather than discarding them.

Software deserves to be preserved. When done correctly, it can continue to unlock new possibilities. This is the mission we are dedicated to.
