Azure Data Platform with Terraform & Hub-and-Spoke

Siemens Financial Services

We developed a scalable Azure data platform for Siemens Financial Services, which employs over 3,000 people in the banking and insurance industry. This project involved implementing a Hub-and-Spoke cloud architecture using Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code (IaC), allowing for standardized and repeatable resource provisioning across Azure. We set up Self-Hosted Integration Runtimes (SHIR) to securely link five on-premise source systems to the cloud platform. One of the significant challenges was coordinating with globally distributed IT teams within Siemens' corporate structure. The outcome is a robust data platform designed for the future, which speeds up new initiatives through reusable IaC modules, enhances data accessibility across the enterprise, and lays the groundwork for scalable analytics and AI applications.

Private AI Chatbot with Personal Data Access

Liebherr

We created a Private AI chatbot for Liebherr, which employs over 18,000 people, focuses on construction machinery, and generates $2.7 billion in revenue. This chatbot offers tailored access to internal company information and operates entirely within Liebherr's own Azure environment. Users can log in via Single Sign-On to access their personal files, emails, and documents stored in Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, and internal drives, limited to their existing access rights (RBAC/Active Directory/Entra). Employees can interact with the chatbot using natural language to request tasks such as summarizing reports, locating relevant files, or finding unanswered emails. Built on a Private AI framework with user-specific processing, the chatbot maintains full compliance with GDPR and ensures data sovereignty. The estimated operating cost is around 0.38 EUR per user per month.
