HSBC's Data-Driven Mobile App Transformation with

Unknown

HSBC is on a transformative mission to improve its mobile banking experience for customers by leveraging data and machine learning. As part of its goal to create personalized mobile banking solutions, HSBC has chosen Databricks as a key component of its strategy. By utilizing this integrated platform, teams of data scientists, engineers, and business analysts at HSBC are collaborating to innovate product development for their consumer mobile applications. Databricks serves as a central hub for data science, engineering, and business analytics, offering a unified data source that enables HSBC to quickly roll out new data products for its mobile app. With the ability to process and anonymize real-time streaming and batch data from millions of users, HSBC has achieved significant results: mobile app engagement has increased by an impressive 4.5 times, and data processing times have plummeted from 6 hours to just 6 seconds. Furthermore, this initiative has allowed HSBC to streamline its data infrastructure by consolidating over 14 databases into a single data lake, markedly boosting productivity and operational efficiency. In summary, HSBC's partnership with Databricks has not only advanced the development of its mobile app but has also led to tangible enhancements in customer engagement and operational responsiveness. This success highlights the vast potential of data and machine learning in contemporary banking. This case study is presented by Databricks Solution Accelerators, with Orbitware serving as Databricks' exclusive nearshore partner in Mexico, sharing this success story to showcase the capabilities and innovations enabled through their collaboration.

Banco Hipotecario's Data-Driven with Databricks

Unknown

Banco Hipotecario has leveraged Databricks to transform its strategies for acquiring customers, cross-selling services, and enhancing overall profitability. With an emphasis on tailored banking experiences, the bank set out to modernize its operations due to the constraints posed by its outdated SAS system. The old SAS system was cumbersome, inflexible, and difficult to scale, leading to disorganized and unreliable data. Inefficient workflows further obstructed the bank's ability to perform timely analytics and work collaboratively on data science projects. Databricks, however, emerged as a pivotal force for change. Utilizing Delta Lake technology, it improved the reliability and performance of Banco Hipotecario's data lake, enabling the bank to collaboratively explore, generate, and integrate datasets at scale through SQL analytics, significantly shortening the time needed for insights. The introduction of interactive notebooks and MLflow also enhanced data science productivity throughout the machine learning lifecycle. The results of this transformation have been substantial. The improved reliability of the data lake expedited ETL processes for analytics and machine learning, leading to enhanced customer engagement and lifetime value. Banco Hipotecario experienced an impressive 90% increase in cross-sells of new products, greatly boosting customer retention and lifetime value. Moreover, the bank achieved a notable 35% decrease in the cost of acquiring new customers. This case study is presented by Databricks Solution Accelerators, and Orbitware, as the exclusive nearshore partner for Databricks in Mexico, is sharing this success story as evidence of the capabilities and innovations made possible through their partnership.
