John Wayne Airport (JWA) is an airport catering to both commercial and general aviation needs for Orange County, California, and the Greater Los Angeles region. Located in an unincorporated part of Orange County, it is managed and owned by the county. JWA ranks as the second most active airport in the Greater Los Angeles area in terms of passenger volume, handling more than 9 million travelers annually. In addition to its airline terminal, various facilities at the airport support a significant general and corporate aviation community. JWA Environmental operates a stringent stormwater compliance program as mandated by California’s Industrial General Permit (CAS000001), which also requires annual training for employees, tenants, and contractors who may impact stormwater quality at JWA. This training program has been developed to fulfill the Employee Training Program requirements specified in Section X.H.2.f of the Industrial General Permit.

The client approached us halfway through their software development journey, requiring us to be accommodating and responsive to their current progress. Our team dedicated time to understanding the application’s workflow. Following our analysis, we developed a technical document to outline the next steps for development. Initially, we focused on resolving functional issues, then worked on improving the overall performance of the web application. Since the client required new features for their app frequently, we adopted an agile methodology to facilitate rapid turnaround and monthly feature releases.

KIPP required an interactive web application with specific needs. As a result, we created several custom modules for them. The user interface was designed to cater to KIPP's target audience, ensuring it was accessible and user-friendly for all age groups, including both children and parents. As a public service website, we prioritized developing an ADA-compliant web application that adhered to all relevant guidelines.
