Our Story Oowlish was established by Dave and Fernando, who have been partners for more than 15 years and have founded multiple ventures while also investing in over 30 startups in both the Americas and Europe. They created and successfully exited PetCoach, the first pet telehealth application in the U.S., and subsequently headed innovation efforts at Petco. Oowlish serves as a global partner for digital product development and venture creation, assisting startups, scaleups, and enterprises in designing, building, and scaling impactful products through experienced engineering teams from LATAM that operate in U.S. time zones.

BOMI is a comprehensive platform powered by IoT and AI, aimed at shifting pet health and safety management from a reactive approach to a predictive one. Oowlish collaborated as a venture and product development partner to conceptualize, design, and create BOMI from scratch, encompassing everything from ideation and hardware prototyping to AI model development, mobile applications, and market strategy. The solution features a smart IoT collar with advanced sensors (including a 6-axis accelerometer, gyroscope, GPS, and BLE) and a robust AI-driven software platform. Machine learning models analyze behavioral and activity patterns to identify issues such as dehydration, allergies, pain, anxiety, or escape risks, and provide predictive alerts before problems worsen. A standout feature of BOMI is its inclusion of a tailored Large Language Model (LLM), offering an emotional connection through the “pet’s digital voice.” Pet owners can select their pet's personality, and the system actively shares insights related to changes in activity, hydration, or stress levels, fostering engagement and adherence. The mobile app serves as a central command hub, providing real-time health dashboards, predictive alerts, automatic processing of veterinary documents, and easy one-click veterinary reports with objective data. This project emphasizes Oowlish’s ability to deliver complex, multidisciplinary products by effectively merging hardware, AI, and software into a scalable, market-ready venture with potential for global expansion.

Editorial AI Platform for Intelligent Education

Santillana

Santillana collaborated with Oowlish to create an AI-driven Editorial Platform intended to revolutionize the creation, personalization, and scalability of educational content within its global network. As one of the largest educational and editorial organizations worldwide, Santillana encountered increasing difficulties with slow and expensive content production, scattered content repositories, and rising demands from educators for tailored, curriculum-aligned resources. Additionally, digital-native competitors were rapidly enhancing their content delivery through AI technologies. We assisted Santillana in conceptualizing and developing an AI-centric editorial platform that seamlessly integrates with its current digital infrastructure. This solution organizes Santillana's extensive and validated content library into a structured Content Knowledge Graph, allowing Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI to generate high-quality, pedagogically sound educational materials. The platform enables editors and teachers to swiftly create lesson plans, explanations, exercises, assessments, and various content formats (text, images, quizzes, and audiovisual elements) within minutes. AI-enhanced editing tools facilitate quick customization of materials based on grade, country, curriculum, learning level, and classroom context, while ensuring rigorous editorial oversight and human verification. By integrating Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), finely-tuned LLMs, and strong editorial governance, the solution guarantees accuracy, consistency, copyright adherence, and pedagogical quality. This initiative establishes Santillana as a frontrunner in AI-enhanced education, providing scalable, personalized, and high-quality learning experiences across Latin America and Europe.

Social Investing Mobile App with AI

Finequities collaborated with Oowlish to create a comprehensive social investing mobile app that integrates financial data, artificial intelligence, education, and community features into a single, user-friendly platform. As a US-based fintech company dedicated to making investing accessible to all, Finequities required a fully customized solution suitable for both novice and seasoned investors. The project involved developing a high-performance mobile application from the ground up, incorporating real-time financial data, facilitating social interactions among users, and integrating AI-driven insights and educational content.
