Improved flexibility by migrating to microservices
Mobiltek is a top provider of mobile payment and IT solutions for transaction systems. Its rapid growth led to greater infrastructure needs and the need for more streamlined and automated processes. The company opted to shift from monolithic applications to microservices, leverage Kubernetes, and delegate environment management to the Oktawave team.
**CHALLENGES**
Mobiltek required a solution that would facilitate the transition from a monolithic architecture to microservices, enhance the quality of IT environment maintenance, and improve return on investment (ROI).
**SOLUTIONS**
Mobiltek approached Oktawave to establish a cloud environment that included specific services such as managed Kubernetes, database clusters, network file storage, and network services. Once the scope of cooperation was defined, the Oktawave team began preparing the necessary infrastructure and services. They configured and launched a test cluster, followed by a production Kubernetes cluster. Additionally, they set up Kubernetes components like DNS, Load Balancer, Container Network Interface, Container Resource Monitoring, and Cluster-Level Logging, while also implementing resource usage monitoring and Pod lifecycle oversight, alongside autoscaling mechanisms. The Mobiltek team commenced refactoring the existing system into microservices. This collaboration allowed Mobiltek to transition applications to containerized environments using database clusters (specifically PostgreSQL with Patroni). Oktawave also ensures continuous operation of the Kubernetes cluster through comprehensive 24/7/365 infrastructure monitoring, management of support tickets, and ongoing architecture optimization and reconfiguration.
