Cross border inventory management
**Challenge**: The objective is to enhance current subsystems while simultaneously creating additional ones to develop an integrated solution for ordering, tracking, and reporting the movement of goods. The ultimate aim is to minimize supply chain friction by connecting Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems with government agencies, telemetry, and other stakeholders through a centralized platform.
**Solution**: Our team addressed this challenge by evaluating existing subsystems to pinpoint areas that needed improvement. We collaborated with the business to formulate its roadmap and define the business requirements necessary to establish priorities and identify solutions that align with their needs.
**Build**:
- We generated, designed, and enhanced existing subsystems.
- We created new subsystems that facilitate easy ordering, approval, and tracking of deliveries, thereby streamlining the overall process.
**Integration**:
- We integrated essential forms and declarations with HMRC to guarantee a smooth exchange of information and data.
- We also combined several existing telemetry systems to monitor vehicle and equipment movements for more efficient logistics.
**Approach**: Our team emphasizes collaboration with both the business and users, adopting an incremental strategy to consistently enhance our solutions. Given the project's scale, which involves multiple subsystems and an extensive roadmap, we implemented an agile methodology, treating each subsystem as an independent project. Our process encompasses business analysis, design, development, quality assurance, and delivery, with each phase engaging business stakeholders and users for feedback. This approach enables us to prioritize effectively and respond to feedback swiftly, ensuring that we develop a valuable system tailored to user needs.
