Combining Two Mobile Applications
"Digital City" has chosen to combine its mobile apps for home video surveillance and smart intercoms. Our task was to merge the features of one application into the other. The outcome includes 150 screens for a new interface with fresh user scenarios designed to improve user experience, enhance UI, lower support and development costs, create new marketing communication opportunities, and boost customer satisfaction. Analytics played a crucial role in the project; we broke down both applications into user scenarios, performed expert assessments, and conducted a series of interviews with product managers and technical support.
The home screen of the mobile app now displays both cameras and intercoms, allowing users to select which ones to show. The address is visible on the screen during video calls, making it easy to identify incoming intercom calls, especially when one person has access to multiple intercoms. We merged the live stream and archive features into a single interface, introduced a restricted access scenario for tenants, and enabled users to open the intercom and view camera footage through widgets without needing to launch the app. The notification system has been completely revamped.
Client feedback highlighted our longstanding collaboration: "We have worked together for 6-7 years on various projects, and the outcome has always been excellent. The foundation of this success is analytics and a deep understanding of the target audience. This sets Sobaka Pavlova apart from most design studios that often prioritize their aesthetic vision, sometimes at the expense of user needs. A key indicator of our successful partnership is the positive feedback from developers, who are usually critical of prototypes and designs, but not when it comes to Sobaka Pavlova,” said Stepan Antonov, Marketing Director of Digital City. The importance of such projects lies in the ability to view your digital products from a fresh user perspective.
