We were contacted by a startup called MySpiroo, which aimed to develop a mobile spirometer for monitoring breathing parameters through a managed app. The client already had a Proof of Concept, so our role involved creating a prototype for the device and preparing the SDK for the mobile application. The R&D team designed and built all the electronics for the IoT device from the ground up. We successfully created the initial prototype of MySpiroo and made further updates based on the client’s medical specifications. Additionally, we established a framework for developing applications on both Android and iOS to facilitate communication with the spirometer. Data from the device could be sent to the app via Bluetooth. As a technological partner in this project, we also assisted the startup with the device's certification process in Europe, the United States, and Canada by providing the necessary technical documentation. Consequently, the mobile spirometer has achieved FDA, ISO, CE, and FCC certifications. MySpiroo has since rebranded to AioCare, and their solution is hailed as a groundbreaking advancement in combating asthma and treating patients with lung diseases. We continue to support the client in manufacturing the device and exploring potential modifications.

MyFafi app and the smart money box

The piggy bank application is an innovative banking product aimed at both parents and children, primarily focused on teaching kids the importance of saving money. Developed by Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken, this Fintech initiative, known as myFamilyFinance, is currently targeted at the German market. It includes an IoT device, a banking system, software, and a mobile application, all coordinated by Cheil Germany. Our role involved creating the mobile app for managing MyPiggy and developing a website to promote the initiative. From the outset, facilitating communication between the application and the IoT device has been vital. The device configuration is conducted via Bluetooth, activating the Wi-Fi in the piggy bank, thus allowing MyPiggy to connect with the AWS IoT cloud. The app makes requests using the MQTT protocol, enabling data transfer between the app and the digital piggy bank. MyFafi is a native application that the client intends to enhance continually with new functionalities. It was developed using the Swift programming language for iOS and Kotlin for Android systems. The application serves as the primary interface within the myFamilyFinance ecosystem, designed for parents to establish savings goals for their children. Kids can deposit their allowance into the piggy bank, while parents can virtually add money through the app. MyPiggy shows the current account balance and updates on new transactions, collected funds, and achieved goals. Users can also access a fun arcade game, set reminders, or alarms through the smart piggy bank using their smartphones. Additionally, the application offers tips and guidance on managing family finances. The device itself can function as a traditional piggy bank and includes a coin level sensor.

SpaceKotty is an innovative litter box designed to assist cat owners in caring for their pets effectively. Our team has created software that interacts with this IoT device, along with a mobile application available for both iOS and Android. This app connects to the smart tray through its integrated Wi-Fi module, allowing users to set up the tray for their cat and link it to their home Wi-Fi network. We have also integrated the software system, meaning that all data about the cat gathered by the tray is displayed in the mobile app. This intelligent litter box tracks how often a cat uses it and the duration of each visit. It measures the pet's weight and alerts owners in case of a sudden drop, which can be crucial for the early detection of health issues. The app analyzes this information using algorithms developed with veterinary experts. All collected data regarding the cat’s health is accessible in the app, with key notifications sent directly to smartphones.
