**BACKGROUND**: Introduce your business and your role. I am the founder and CEO of a company that focuses on delivering business applications tailored for small and medium-sized enterprises. Our current priority is the Indian market, where we provide these businesses with everything they need to thrive without the hassle of switching between various applications. **OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**: What was the challenge that prompted you to collaborate with Mobcoder? We partnered with Mobcoder to create a brand new application from the ground up. **SOLUTION**: What was the extent of their involvement? Mobcoder offered software development services to our company. We approached them with a specific use case, as we hadn’t developed anything yet. We were seeking a software consulting firm capable of building the application, so we shared our product description and conducted interviews to assess their qualifications. Mobcoder managed the software development process, utilizing React.js for the frontend, React Native for the mobile application, and Django and Azure for the backend. I provided the initial wireframe mock-ups, and they transformed them into a high-fidelity design. **Team Composition**: We collaborated with a team of 5–6 individuals, which included a designer, a mobile app developer, a backend developer, and a tester. **How did you come to work with Mobcoder?** We discovered Mobcoder through a Google search and reached out to one of their sales representatives. We connected with Girijesh, one of the founders, and explained our project and budget. We were interested in seeing their previous work, even if it was in another field. He presented a portfolio showcasing their past projects. After reviewing it, they submitted a proposal based on the wireframes I provided. After evaluating the proposal, we entered into a contract. **Investment**: We invested approximately $45,000 with them. **Status of Engagement**: The collaboration commenced a few weeks after we finalized the contract in May 2024 and continued until December 2024. **RESULTS & FEEDBACK**: What evidence demonstrates the impact of this engagement? While software development projects always have bugs, Mobcoder consistently addressed them promptly. Whenever we reported issues, the team usually fixed them quickly. Other success metrics wouldn’t fully capture the team’s development. **Project Management Performance**: I took charge of project management myself. Although Mobcoder initially assigned a project manager, I had previous experience as a technical project manager and wanted to engage directly with the team. Mobcoder went the extra mile to meet our requests. We communicated via Skype for messaging, Google Meet for video calls, and used Microsoft Excel for bug tracking. **Acknowledgment**: I would like to recognize Umesh, our mobile app developer, for his outstanding work. **Impressions**: The most impressive aspect of Mobcoder was their strong sense of ownership. They consistently sought to understand the use case and find solutions, even when they were unfamiliar with the technology. They rarely indicated limitations and actively looked for ways to overcome challenges. **Areas for Improvement**: One area to enhance is testing, which also hinges on how well the team understands the product. It can be challenging to grasp every detail of each project the team works on. **Advice for Potential Clients**: It’s crucial to clarify your requirements in advance. When working with Mobcoder, have a definite vision of what you want and the respective use cases. Clear requirements are essential for a successful partnership.
